FIRE/RESCUE

The Fond du Lac Fire Department of Wisconsin is the only full-time career department in Fond du Lac County and consists of 67 dedicated members that operate out of three stations. The City of Fond du Lac is centrally located between Wisconsin’s three major cities of Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay. Fond du Lac is the hub for the major transportation routes between each of these metropolitan areas and is located no more than 70 miles from each city. Our department serves the City of Fond du Lac with a resident population of 43,270 citizens and a day time population of 66,000. The added increase in population during the daytime is due to business, industry and school enrollment. The Fond du Lac Fire Department’s 90 square mile primary response area includes the City of Fond du Lac as well as townships of Byron, Empire, Fond du Lac, Lomira, Taycheedah and the entire village of Brownsville. Our department interacts with 28 volunteer fire and EMS agencies within Fond du Lac County on a regular basis. We provide fire protection, advanced life support emergency medical service, haz-mat and special rescue throughout the county while working with these diverse agencies. Last year alone we worked with various agencies within the county on 143 separate occasions while responding to a total of 5,851 calls throughout the year.
